If we had any sense at all, we would of postponed the Spring Hike for a week. Rain was in the forecast and many had predicted a wash out. Well, ignoring common sense, we decided to go forward with our plans anyhow.
We met at the church for an early departure. The weather was damp and all were excited to get moving. It is our great fortune to live very close to one of America's greatest treasures, the Adirondack Mountains. Their great beauty was beckoning us to begin. The trees were gently moving in the wind and the smells of the forest filled our thoughts with the wonder of God's creation as we set out.
This years adventure was along the Tenant Falls Trail. Our memory of last year's hike was still fresh and we were a little nervous that this years hike would be as difficult. To our great relief, the Tenet Falls trail was nothing like last year's Crain Mountain Trail. It was filled with great beauty and each turn of the trail left one anticipating another surprising gorgeous scene.
We are happy to report that all who attempted the hike were also able to complete it. It is a very special occasion when one can enjoy God's creation with other believers. The day was a gift from the Lord to all who attended and we can hardly wait for another opportunity to share time like this again.
